Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, welcomed a delegation from Huazhong Agricultural University (Central China Agricultural University) during their participation in the Fifth Applied Sciences Conference, scheduled to be held at Benha University's Obour campus.
The meeting was attended by prof. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.

He highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships that invest in research outputs, noting that both universities are pursuing an ambitious program to develop new varieties of Egyptian rice, alongside scholarship opportunities for Benha students to study in China and participate in summer school exchanges.
The delegation expressed their gratitude to Benha University, affirming that over the past ten years, significant achievements have been realized. These include scholarships for Benha's young researchers to pursue master's and doctoral degrees, postdoctoral research opportunities, and joint research projects that have resulted in numerous publications in prestigious international journals.

• Prof. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President for postgraduate Studies and Research,
Inaugurated a training course on how to apply for and write laboratory development projects for international accreditation.
This event was attended by :
• Prof. Mahmoud Abdel Ghaffar, Director of the Development Projects Management Unit,
• Prof. Mohamed Basyouni, Director of the Scientific Laboratories and Equipment Unit at the university,
• project and laboratory managers,
• faculty members,
• Young researchers at the university.
The course was presented by Prof. Abdel Fattah Monjed, a professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Prof. Gehan Abdel Hadi emphasized the importance of providing researchers at the university with access to various laboratory facilities and scientific equipment to ensure the implementation of their research plans, in line with the general strategy for scientific research in Egypt.
The Vice President highlighted the significance of the course in promoting a culture of laboratory quality in applied fields, preparing them for international accreditation, and enhancing the institutional capacities of laboratories. This aims to strengthen the infrastructure of the research process through international accreditation of laboratories and improving management systems while raising the competencies and capabilities of technical staff to achieve sustainable mechanisms for self-financing and activating the relationship between educational institutions and the productive community.
The workshop covered guidelines and requirements for applying for laboratory development projects and their qualification for international accreditation, as well as how to prepare project proposals, funding plans for project activities, budget details, and finally, the project work and implementation plan.

President of Benha University: 904 Activities Implemented, 1,021 Students Facing Financial Difficulties Supported

Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced the implementation of 904 student activities during the first half of the 2025/2026 academic year, with the participation of 77,525 students. The university also won 46 gold medals, 30 silver medals, and 19 bronze medals.

The university president indicated that tuition fees were paid for 1,021 students facing financial difficulties through the university's Social Solidarity Fund, totaling 1,121,022 Egyptian pounds. This reflects the state and university's commitment to ensuring the continuity of the educational process and achieving equal opportunities. Additionally, the university purchased assistive devices and motorcycles for students with disabilities, as part of its community role towards its students.

Al-Jizawi stressed that the university places student activities at the forefront of its strategic priorities, and works to support all initiatives that enhance students’ talents and develop their leadership and creative abilities, making them active elements in serving the community.

He noted that this excludes medical staff, university security personnel, dormitory residents, employees in the occupational health and safety departments, those on duty, and employees whose work requires their presence to ensure the smooth management of the situation within the university and its faculties.
